On Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir, defending champions Mumbai lost six wickets for 100 runs against, putting them in serious difficulties. Even though openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal got off to a great start, Mumbai kept losing wickets frequently.
When Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane was sent back to the pavilion for 16 runs by his opponent Paras Dogra with an incredible one-handed catch. A fullish delivery was bowled outside off stump by J&K bowler Umar Nazir. In an attempt to drive, Rahane played a cover shot between mid-off and cover. Dogra, who was standing at mid-off, sprinted to his left and stretched out to collect the ball.

Mumbai's struggle goes on in the second innings
When the reigning champions find themselves in trouble in the second innings, history is going to repeat itself. The last time Jammu & Kashmir defeated Mumbai was in 2014. At 105/7, Mumbai was behind Jammu & Kashmir by just 19 runs. Earlier, Mumbai got a strong start thanks to a 54-run partnership between Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first wicket. Once more, Hardik Tamore failed. But once both of the openers were out, the bowlers from Jammu & Kashmir swept through Mumbai's middle order, with Shivam Dube and Shreyas Iyer struggling to score many runs.
They had some optimism because of Shreyas Iyer and Rahane, but they were only five runs ahead when a barrage of wickets reduced their score to 91/6. Mumbai has a mountain to climb as they lead J&K by 25 runs. Auqib Nabi has taken three wickets for Jammu & Kashmir thus far, while Yudhvir Singh and Umar Nazir, two pacers each, have taken two wickets.
