Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to make a return after a month-long gap following India’s historic T20 World Cup win. Both veterans have announced retirements from the shorter format of the game and will now focus solely on ODI and Test cricket. The duo will be taking the field when India go head to head against Sri Lanka in the upcoming 50-over series.

Team India made a strong start to their multi-format tour to the Island nation, clean sweeping the three-match T20I series. Under the guidance of new head coach Gautam Gambhir, the Men in Blue are expected to clinch the ODI series as well. Notably, this will be the first time that Rohit and Kohli will play an ODI match after the 2023 World Cup final.

With the Champions Trophy 2025 on the horizon, both the superstars of Indian cricket will be aiming for an effective outing. Several videos and pictures of them sweating it out in the nets are doing the rounds on social media. Meanwhile, another video has surfaced on the internet where a cute little fan receiving autographs from Kohli and Rohit.   

The boy was seen approaching the iconic duo with his father during their training session in Colombo on Wednesday (July 31). Kohli and Rohit also posed for photographs with the child and father. Fans on social media showered love on these adorable moments as this cute fan achieved the dreams of billions.

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting to see Gambhir and Kohli reunite. Both have had some fierce rivalry in the past, but recently buried the hatchet and are set to team up for the nation. The two are yet to meet as the T20I matches were played in Pallekale while Kohli was in Colombo, the venue for the ODI series which will begin on Friday, August 2.
