Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was brutally trolled on social media after posting a photo from his training session on Instagram. The image, which was also shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), drew significant attention when fans noticed that Rohit appeared to have edited the picture to hide his tummy.

Fans on social media quickly pointed out the difference between the edited photo and the original one shared by the BCCI, leading to a wave of online trolling targeting Sharma's physique. The cricketer, who has faced criticism for his fitness in the past, was once again mocked by the social media users.

However, Rohit chose to delete the edited image from his Instagram account ever since he started getting trolled. But the images have already surfaced on social media and the trolls are still on. Many fans have advised the star India batter to start working out in the gym instead of editing his pictures.

Rohit Sharma to play under Gautam Gambhir for the first time

Rohit hasn’t played any international match since he led the Indian team to their 2nd T20 World Cup glory. The right-handed batter will be back in action on August 2 with India taking on Sri Lanka for a 3-match ODI series. This will also be his first match after Gautam Gambhir was appointed as India’s new head coach.

It would be interesting to see the collaboration between Gambhir and Rohit as India are eying the upcoming major events which are the Champions Trophy and World Test Championship (WTC). The Men in Blue managed to qualify for the finals in the 2017 Champions Trophy, however, they were defeated by the then-Sarfaraz Khan-led team.
