Former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan was seen biting his helmet strap while batting on the 2nd day of the Chennai Test. This move from the veteran star left a lot of fans confused and intrigued. Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra, during his commentary for the official broadcasters, made a comment behind the move.

Former India star Aakash Chopra said, “Whe he (Shakib) is in his stance, he keeps pushing his head inwards, almost towards mid-on. Why he is doing this is because somebody must have told him that he can do this to address the problem of his head falling over. This leads to the front foot going in the same direction. If that happens, then your batting gets disturbed.”

The former Indian opener also said, “So that thread or band he is holding in his teeth is at its peak tension when his head is inward. He is trying to keep his head as close as possible to his right shoulder so that it doesn’t go to the other side. It helps in keeping the front foot straighter.”

Sanjay Manjrekar lauds Jasprit Bumrah

Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar was all in praise for pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The 30-year-old picked 4/50 from 11 overs. During the course of the 1st innings the Indian star also went onto complete 400 wickets in international cricket.

Manjrekar during his chat with ESPNCRICINFO said, "We all know about his variations, his thinking - one of the sharpest thinking fast bowlers. We saw a certain amount of meanness as well in the way he bowled to Taskin."

India's former batter also said, "But the one thing that came through today was that he is a bowler without a weakness - whatever the opposition, pitch conditions, and that's actually the best way to judge greatness. Indian cricket is so fortunate to have him in their side.”

Jasprit Bumrah while speaking to the broadcasters at the end of the said, “I don’t know what to say. When I was growing up, I was a fan of fast bowling. I learned about it through the television. I fell in love with cricket like that. I don’t want kids to copy my bowling action but sometimes you can’t do anything about it. I am pleased that I have left an impact on children. It is always nice to achieve your targets.”
