Twenty wickets fell on the opening day of the second Test match in Multan on Saturday. West Indies who were bowled out for 163 made a strong comeback into the game thanks to their bowlers. Kemar Roach played a key role when he took a key catch to dismiss Saud Shakeel, that changed the course of the game.
The incident occurred in the second ball of the 35th over with Jomel Warrican bowling to Shakeel. The batter came down the track and tried to flick Warrican for a boundary over the leg-side boundary. 36-year-old Roach ran to the ball and dove right in front and took a great catch to get rid of dangerous looking Shakeel for 32 runs.

It also ended the stand of 68 runs for the fifth between Shakeel and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. From there the home team suffered a monumental collapse losing their last six wickets for 35 runs. West Indies will come out to bat on the second day with a slender lead of nine runs with the pitch aiding the spinners.
Action packed first day witnesses twenty wickets fall
Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and chose to bat first on what was yet another spin dominated day of Test cricket. Noman Ali picked 6/41 which included a hat-trick to bowl out the visiting side for 163 in the 42nd over of the innings. The best batter for West Indies was Gudakesh Motie who scored 55 runs. Kemar Roach (26) and Jomel Warrican (36*) were the other key contributors with the bat.
At one stage, West Indies were in huge trouble with their score reading 54/8 in the 17th over. Sajid Khan picked two wickets while debutant Kashif Ali and Abrar Ahmed picked one wicket apiece. The final wicket stand between Motie and Warrican was worth 68 runs which came in 80 balls.
Roach then struck by dismissing Muhammad Hurraira for nine runs. Gudakesh Motie castled Babar Azam for one run, as Shan Masood fell for 15 runs bowled by Roach. 26-runs were added for the fourth wicket between Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel. That partnership ended when Motie had Ghulam caught by Athanaze for 16 runs. Mohammad Rizwan top scorer for Pakistan with 49 off 75 with the knock containing eight boundaries.
