The T20 World Cup 2024 final game is scheduled to take place in Barbados on June 29. India and South Africa, the two undefeated teams in the competition, will face off to win the title. The Men in Blue, who won the competition in its first edition in 2007, will try to win the T20 World Cup for a second time.

The Proteas, who have never before advanced to a T20 World Cup final, will want to erase the ‘chokers’ tag attached to them by taking home the biggest title in the shortest format. Given that several players from both teams haven't performed well but are still in the starting 11 because of the winning combination, it will be intriguing to watch whether either team's squads change.

One of the players who hasn’t done anything special in the ongoing tournament so far is Virat Kohli. The man behind India’s iconic victories in multiple T20 World Cup matches, Kohli, might get dropped from the squad before the final clash. However, these are just speculations as he is one of the most experienced players in the team right now and dropping him before the biggest clash might not go well for them.

You know with Virat, the thing is... - Rahul Dravid

Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t get a single match to open. Many fans and experts questioned the selectors to replace Shivam Dube with Yashasvi Jaiswal so that Kohli could bat down the order. Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid have backed Kohli as they believe that the ‘Run Machine’ will come up with a big knock in a must-win game. Rohit said that Kohli is a quality player for a batter like him, form is never a problem.

"You know with Virat, the thing is, when you play a slightly high-risk brand of cricket there can be times when it doesn't come off. And for some reason, I don't want to jinx it but I think there's a big one coming up. I'm just loving his attitude and that he's committing himself on the field - I think he deserves it." Dravid was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

"He's a quality player. Any player can go through that. But again, we do understand his class and we do understand his importance in all these big games. Form is never a problem because when you have played cricket for 15 years, form is never a problem. I thought he's looking good. The intent is there. It's probably saving for the finals". Rohit said.
