Indian armed forces have been lauded for their marvellous efforts in keeping the country safe amidst the tensions with Pakistan. Anushka Sharma posted a story on her social media which read, “Eternally grateful to our Indian armed forces for protecting us through tough times like the heroes they are. Heartfelt gratitude to the sacrifices they and their families have made. Jai Hind”. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was quick to comment on his wife’s post with a Jai Hind along with an Indian flag and other emojis.
Virat Kohli has been in the news recently for his clarification regarding liking Avneet Kaur’s post. The 36-year-old was set to be in action for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Lucknow Super Giants on Friday. RCB are currently second in the table and Kohli is third in the Orange Cap list with 505 runs so far this campaign.
Even Kohli put up a post lauding the valour of the Indian armed forces and wrote, “We stand in solidarity and salute our armed forces for fiercely protecting our country in these difficult times. We are forever indebted to our heroes for their unwavering bravery and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifices they and their families make for the great nation.”
Cricketing fraternity rally behind Indian armed forces
India’s ODI skipper Rohit Sharma took to his X handle and lauded the armed forces and wrote, “With every passing moment, with every decision taken, I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Air Airforce & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation’s pride. It’s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake news. Stay safe, everyone!”
Former Indian cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Virender Sehwag also posted their support for India’s army. Sehwag wrote, “War has been chosen by Pakistan when they had an opportunity to keep quiet. They have escalated to save their terrorist assets — speaks so much about them. Our forces will reply in the most appropriate manner, a manner Pakistan will never forget.” Dhawan wrote, “Respect to our brave hearts for protecting our borders with such strength and stopping the drone attack on Jammu. India stands strong. Jai Hind!”
Massive tensions between India and Pakistan have seen the Indian Premier League 2025 season being suspended for a week. BCCI posted a statement which read, “The decision was taken by IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans ; while the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders.”
