Travis Head to follow footsteps of Steve Smith, set to join Major League Cricket 2024

Star Australia batter Travis Head is all set to be a part of the Washington Freedom in the upcoming Major League Cricket 2024. He will be joining his fellow Australia teammate Steve Smith in the Freedom squad. The tournament will start on July 4 after completing the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Travis Head is in action for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2024; he is one of the leading run-scorers for SRH in the tournament with 133 runs in the 4 innings of the 4 matches he has played for the side. Head has an average of 33.25 with an excellent strike rate of 172.72, including 1 half-century.

Now, he will be in action for SRH in their upcoming game against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru today.

Other Australian stars to feature in MLC 2024

The Southpaw attracted the eyeballs of the cricketing fraternity for his iconic and unforgettable knock in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final against India. His century helped Australia to clinch their 6th ODI World Cup title after defeating the hosts in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Coming back to Major League Cricket, Washington Freedom have some big Australian names both in their squad and the coaching setup as well. Former great Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting will be there in the role of head coach for Washington Freedom.

Apart from that, some of the other Aussie stars will also feature in Major League Cricket 2024 Adam Zampa (LA Knight Riders), Spencer Johnson (LA Knight Riders), and Tim David will be appearing for MI New York.
