Australia Women under the captaincy of wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy completely dominated the hosts Bangladesh Women in the third T20I of the three-match series to clinch the series comfortably by a clean sweep margin. Both teams played this match at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday, April 4, 2024. The visiting skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and decided to bat first.

Batting first, Australia posted a total of 155 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of Healy’s captaincy knock of 45 runs off just 29 balls, with 6 fours and 2 sixes followed by Tahlia McGrath’s 43 runs off just 29 balls, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Nahida Akter scalped 3 wickets for Bangladesh, alongside one wicket each picked by Shorifa Khatun and Rabeya Khan. While chasing the target, Bangladesh were bundled out just at the score of 78 runs in 18.1 overs. Skipper Nigar Sultana was the only leading run-scorer for the hosts as she scored 32 runs off 31 balls, with 5 fours. Eventually, the Aussies won this clash by a margin of 77 runs and clinched the three-match T20I series by a clean sweep margin of 3-0.

Australia crush Bangladesh hopes to register even a single win on the entire tour

Earlier in the second T20I, Australia Women won by 58 runs to seal the series with an unassailable lead of 2-0 following a massive 10-wicket win in the T20I series opener.

Before the recently concluded three-match T20I series, Australia also clinched the three-match ODI series by a clean sweep margin of 3-0. The first ODI was won by the visitors by a heavy margin of 118 runs followed by a 6-wicket win in the second ODI.

Later, in the third and last ODI of the three-match series, Australia ended up winning the match by 8 wickets to seal the series by 3-0. Now, Healy’s girls will be heading back to Australia with being unbeaten on the Bangladesh tour, including 6 consecutive wins, with 3 ODI wins and 3 T20I wins.
