Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are one of the two most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). 5: David Warner, 696 runs 

Former Australian batter David Warner will not be seen playing in the IPL 2025 season. The left-handed batter has scored 696 runs from 21 matches against the Chennai Super Kings. Warner has hit 9 half-centuries with a best of 90, which came when he was playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad during the 2014 season in Ranchi. The former Aussie star has an average of 33 and a strike rate of 133 to be rated as one of the top batsmen against CSK. 

4: Dinesh Karthik -727 runs 

Former India star Dinesh Karthik is a local Chennai lad, but in a strange twist of irony, he never managed to play for CSK. The 39-year-old called time on his career at the end of the IPL 2024 season after having conjured 257 games and having scored 4842 runs with a total of 182 dismissals behind the stumps. Dinesh Karthik played 33 games versus CSK and scored 727 runs with 2 half centuries with an average of 29 and strike rate of 138. This record slots Karthik at number 4 in terms of highest run scorers against CSK. 

3-Rohit Sharma: 896 runs

Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has always been a thorn in the flesh of CSK fans. MS Dhoni has lost all his battles against Rohit when it comes to head-to-record in the IPL finals. In 34 games against CSK, Rohit Sharma has scored 896 runs with one century and 7 fifties. His only tonne came during the IPL 2024 season at the Wankhede Stadium. Rohit has an average of 29 against CSK and a strike rate of 129. The 896 runs by Rohit are the 3rd most runs against CSK in the IPL. 

2- Virat Kohli: 1053 runs 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli is the 2nd highest run scorer against CSK in IPL with 1053 runs. Kohli has played 33 games against CSK and has hit 9 half-centuries with a best of 90 not out. The 36-year-old hasn’t scored a duck against CSK in his career and has an average of 37 with an overall strike rate of 126. In the key game of IPL 2024, which was played in Bengaluru, Kohli’s 47 was one of the main reasons for CSK’s elimination from the tournament. 

1- Shikhar Dhawan: 1057 runs

Former India batter and IPL legend Shikhar Dhawan is the batter with most runs against CSK in the league. The left-handed batter had played 29 times against the Chennai Super Kings and scored 1057 runs. Dhawan has scored one century, which came during the 2020 season while he was with the Delhi Capitals, scoring 101 not out. Shikhar Dhawan has also hit 8 half-centuries and has an average of 44 and a strike rate of 131 against CSK.
