After an emotional retirement press conference of India’s former great off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, there came a time in the press conference room when fans and journalists witnessed the typical Rohit Sharma press conference. The moment came a few minutes after Rohit had completed speaking about his journey and memories with Ashwin.

Rohit remembered his U-17 days when he knew R Ashwin as an opener for Tamil Nadu, who later turned out to be one of the legendary off-spinners ever played for India. Immediately after talking about Ashwin, the Indian skipper started mentioning the veteran Indian batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.

However, the press conference hall went into a big laughter when Rohit realized in the middle of his words that Rahane and Pujara aren’t retired from international cricket. Subsequently, he also funnily targeted journalists and advised them to ask this kind of question carefully as Rahane and Pujara can still make a comeback with their brilliant performances.

Here’s a look at Rohit Sharma’s answer:

“We meet a lot of people in Mumbai, Rahane is also from Mumbai, Pujara is hiding in Rajkot, we don’t meet a lot of people but in the field of cricket, we meet a lot of people. But Ash too, I am sure he will be with you guys in the next 1-2 years. So, we will keep meeting him," said Rohit in the initial half of his answer to this question.

“By the way, Ajinkya Rahane hasn’t retired, aap ko mere ko marwaoge [you will get me killed],” he added jokingly while summing up his answer.
The video of this typical Rohit Sharma response to a journalist in the press conference is also making rounds on social media as soon as a fan shared it on X (formerly Twitter).
