Top 5 All-rounders to watch out for in CPL 2024

The 2024 edition of the Caribbean Premier began with the first game of the season being played in Thursday. Home team Antigua and Barbuda Falcons lost to Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots thanks to the visitors scraping through to a 1-wicket triumph. 

One of the focus this year will be on the all-rounders. All the teams in the Caribbean Premier League have some huge names in the squad. T20 Cricket has been a haven for all-rounders. 

The ability to do well with the bat and ball also in the field will hold teams in good stead. As the season has already started the fans across various teams will be looking towards the all round options in their teams that can put in clutch performances. 

Here are the top 5 all rounders to look out for in CPL 2024

5- Raymon Reifer 

The veteran West Indian star is a powerful batter with the ability to hit the ball long and hard. Raymon Reifer is also a dependable left-arm pacer with the ability to pick wickets and also put the brakes on the batters in the death overs. So far Raymon Reifer has played 70 games in CPL and scored 817 runs with 2 fifties and a strike rate of 112. He has also picked 50 wickets with a best of 5/20 and economy rate of 7.6 runs per over. 

4- David Wiese 

The former South Africa and Namibia star may have retired from international cricket but he is still a major force. David Wiese is a terrific lower order hitter and also a very good medium pacer with the knack of picking key wickets. Till now Wiese has played 28 matches in CPL and scored 301 runs and also claimed 35 wickets with the ball. His best figures are 5/25 with an economy rate of 8.44. 

3- Jason Holder 

Former West Indian captain Jason Holder is one of the most dependable stars in the league. The veteran star has played 92 matches in CPL and scored 1057 runs with the bat. Holder has hit 2 fifties and has a strike rate of 131 which shows his big hitting prowess. With the ball Jason Holder has picked 87 wickets with an economy rate of 7.6 runs per over. 

2- Imad Wasim 

Pakistan star Imad Wasim has the knack of bowling with the new ball and bowling fastish spinners. Even with the bat, Imad Wasim is an asset to any team while being slotted in the lower middle order with his big hitting skills. So far Imad Wasim has played 55 CPL matches scoring 623 runs with 2 fifties with a strike rate of 126. With the ball the Pakistani star has picked 62 wickets with his economy rate reading 6.23 runs per over. 

1- Andre Russell 

Counted as one of the top all rounders in T20 Cricket, Andre Russell’s numbers in CPL are out of this world. The veteran West Indian star has been part of 97 CPL matches and scored 1755 runs with 2 centuries and 6 fifties with a strike rate above 170. This makes the Jamaican star one of the most feared players with the bat. Andre Russell can also be the deciding factor with the ball as he has picked 86 wickets and played a key role in many wins in the history of the league.
