Former Pakistani batter Ahmed Shehzad has hit out at his side for their huge loss to England in Multan. Pakistan became the first team to lose a Test match by an innings despite scoring over 550 runs on the board in their 1st innings. England, in response, scored 823/7 and won the game by an innings and 47 runs.

Ahmed Shehzad said on his YouTube channel, “For motivation, I suggest the Pakistan team should watch the Lagaan movie. The issue is that in the movie they had to pay it from their pockets. But you don't have to do this, Pakistan Cricket Board has to do it."

Skipper Shan Masood is likely to get the sack after the dismal and horrendous performance in Multan. Speaking at the end of the game, Masood said, “We’re obviously hurt by the results, hurt as a nation. But the beauty of the game is it always gives you another chance. Life gives you another chance. So the quick turnaround might be beneficial for us and we’re looking forward to it.”

Naseer Hussain hits out at Babar Azam for his bad show with bat

Pakistan batter Babar Azam has come under fire for his below performance during the Multan Test. The right-handed batter has been in horrendous form with the bat in 2024 in the longest format of the game. Former England skipper turned commentator Nasser Hussain during his chat with Sky Sports criticized the 29-year-old.

“Their best player - a world-class player - Babar Azam is horrendously out of form. It's nine Test matches without a half-century - on these pitches! Maybe that's psychological, with everything that he's been through, giving up the white-ball captaincy," said Naseer Hussain.

Former England skipper also said, “In this part of the world, if you are Babar Azam and you go two games without a half-century or a hundred, the pressure builds, let alone eight, nine Tests. The pressure is on him, definitely."

Pakistani seamers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi came under fire for their bad bowling in Multan. Hussain during his chat with Sky Sports said, “You wouldn't say any of their three seamers that they are playing at the moment are express pace. That's a dangerous combination. You have a top order that's failing in the second innings and you're not sure what pitch to prepare that suits your bowling attack."
