‘They are the best but…’ – Sam Konstas makes telling statement while speaking about Indian bowling before MCG Test

Potential Aussie debutant Sam Konstas addressed the media before the beginning of the 4th Test match in Melbourne. One of the biggest battles that fans are waiting for is between Jasprit Bumrah and the young batting sensation Sam Konstas. During the first 3 games of the series, Bumrah has been the best bowler with 21 wickets from 3 games. 

India’s lead pacer has been lethal with the new ball against Australia’s opening batters. Bumrah had Nathan McSweeney’s number in each of the first 3 games of the series. The media were quick to pose a question to Konstas on how he is going to face Bumrah. 

The 19-year-old replied, “I have watched Bumrah’s bowling videos quiet a bit but trying to be in the moment, hopefully I get the opportunity to Boxing Day. They’re all very good bowlers. obviously they are the best in the world but looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I’ll get to experience that this week." 

Sam Konstas getting ready for huge MCG debut 

After three failures in the first three games of the series, Nathan McSweeney was dropped for the final two games. 19-year-old Sam Konstas who has been in great form with the bat was given the call for the games in Melbourne and Sydney. 

When asked if he had spoken to any Indian team member, Konstas replied, “I had a little chat with KL Rahul during the tour match, just talking about how he goes about it, but other than that, it’s pretty simple.”

The young batting sensation was asked if he got to learn anything from the two games against India A, the batter replied, “Learned a lot, obviously challenging myself with the Indian A team and learning from great mentors in the Aussie A stuff. Hopefully, I get the opportunity. Just trying to put my best foot forward and score runs.”

Meanwhile Sean Abbott has also lavished high praise on Jasprit Bumrah when speaking to the media as he said, “He has any delivery on tap, the accuracy, the pace. He just ticks all the boxes, session after session. There's not been one time when he's bowled in this series where he hasn't been putting pressure on the Australian batsmen. I take my hat off to him, it's been unreal. We're seeing a master at work.”
