During the T20 World Cup the former Pakistan skipper had alleged that Arshdeep Singh was able to get reverse swing due to some mischief with the ball. “Arshdeep Singh, when he was bowling the 15th over, the ball was reversing. is it too early for reverse swing with the new ball? This means the ball was ready for reverse swing by the 12th or the 13th over”

This caused a massive uproar in the social media circles. The former Pakistan skipper also said “If it was Pakistani bowlers (reverse swinging the ball) this would have been a big issue. We know reverse swing very well and if Arshdeep can come in the 15th over and start reversing the ball, it means some serious work had been done before”

Mohammed Shami calls Inzamam ‘Namuma’ during podcast

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami was asked to comment on what Inzamam had said recently about Arshdeep Singh. The Indian pacer responded by saying “Abhi ek namuna aur khod ke diya hai innhone ki Arshdeep ne reverse kaise kardiya”

Shami also went onto say “I have only one thing to tell Inzamam-ul-Haq: if you can do it, you are a magician, but when others do it, you call it ball tampering. It's unexpected when a player of his stature makes such comments”

The 33-year-old also said “Take these cartoonish comments somewhere else. Getting the ball to reverse swing does not require any magic, you just need to maintain it properly”. During the podcast the host Shami also spoke about the allegations made by Hasan Raza against him during the 2023 ODI World Cup.

“Apparently, I got a different type of ball in the World Cup. They had accused me of putting a device into the ball. I even told in an interview that I would one day cut open the ball. In fact, I still have the Player of the Match ball with me” said Mohammed Shami.

Finally Mohammed Shami said “They were the first ones to introduce this craft, and if it is achieved using wrong ways, they should be held first. If I visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025, I will take three balls along with me and will show them that there were no devices in them. I will cut the balls into two pieces in front of 20 people. I will also show them how the reverse swing is achieved”
