Australia's prolific wicket-keeper batter, Adam Gilchrist slammed the umpires for taking a lot of time during the matches even after giving the decisions. As per Gilchrist, the umpires should have complete control over the game and the players should stop arguing with them over nothing. Mostly, the players are wasting time discussing or arguing with the umpires for small things that could be easily ignored if the umpires can just be stern about their decisions.

"I saw another example tonight where umpires need to take better control of games, and that is in any format. They just have to do a better job at moving things forward. There was a dispute over whether Rishabh had reviewed it. Okay, there was a miscommunication over the review call," Gilchrist said on Cricbuzz.

Several players like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill and many more keep on arguing with the on-field umpires regarding decisions which are straightforward and require no further discussion. According to the Australian keeper-batter, this should be stopped and the game should continue without disturbance.

"But if he keeps talking, he should get fined..." - Adam Gilchrist on DC's captain Rishabh Pant

In the match against LSG vs DC, Rishabh Pant was seen arguing with the umpire over a wide delivery in the fourth over of the match. He had a long discussion with the on-field umpire Rohan Pandit regarding the absence of Snickometer usage. Hence, Adam Gilchrist showed discontent with Rishabh's behaviour and suggested that the captain should be fined if he does this more frequently.

Adam Gilchrist said, "But they stood there and spoke about that for 3-4 minutes. It's a simple conversation, I believe. No matter how much Rishabh is complaining or any other player is complaining, umpires should say, 'It's over' and quickly move on. But if he keeps talking, he should get fined."
