The Indian Cricket Board has taken strict action against Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant and the entire squad after they were found guilty of maintaining a slow over rate for the second time in a row in the IPL 2024. Notably, Delhi Capitals maintained the slow over-rate in their second game against CSK; however, they were again found guilty in their third game against KKR on April 3.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals skipper was fined Rs 12 lakh after maintaining the slow over rate during CSK; Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh after being found guilty in the game against KKR. The BCCI revealed that Pant will get a ban from one match as the skipper after his side is found guilty for the fourth time in the ongoing marquee event.

"Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on April 3," said BCCI in an official release.

Delhi Capitals suffered a great loss against KKR in the 16th game of the IPL 2024

"As it was his team’s second offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Pant was fined INR 24 lakhs. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 lakhs or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser," the sources added further.

Speaking about the game, the Delhi Capitals suffered a great loss against KKR in the 16th game of the IPL 2024. Notably, KKR was able to post the massive target of 272/7 in the given 20 overs owing to the magnificent displays by Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. However, during the chase, the Delhi Capitals were only able to make 166 runs before getting all out and going on to lose the game by 106 runs.
