Indian players laid their hands on an ICC trophy after a long wait of 11 years and experienced immense joy after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. This joy wouldn't have been achieved without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. But after the World Cup, both the stalwarts retired from T20I cricket, which was quite heartbreaking for the Indians. Rohit was asked about the reason behind his retirement in an interview on the YouTube channel FITTR.

The anchor asked, "Was there a time when you felt that you're not that young, and maybe it's time for me to put down the gloves?" Rohit was too quick to answer the question and mentioned that the reason behind his retirement was to give opportunities to other young players. The former T20I skipper played for a long time, enjoyed his venture, and felt that the time had come.

"No no no. The only reason I retired from T20Is was because I've had my time. I enjoyed playing the format. It was time to move on and look after other things. There are a lot of good players who can do well for India. So, that was not because I felt anything. I just felt it was the right time. I can still play all three formats easily," said Rohit Sharma.

Life happened to Rohit in a full circle moment as he made his T20I debut in the World Cup in 2007 and ended his T20I career in the 2024 World Cup. The player achieved a lot during this time, but winning the ICC Trophy was his greatest feat.

Day 3 of IND vs BAN on the verge of getting abandoned due to rain

The ongoing 2nd Test match between India and Bangladesh is on the verge of getting abandoned due to rain. Even on day three, the ground isn't ready due to wet patches on the outfield. The umpires weren't happy with the pitch, so one more session was lost. Earlier, day 2 was called off because of the constant rain during the match.

The stadium's poor planning is the reason behind this cancellation of the game, but now it's too late to make amends. India and Bangladesh will meet again for the 3-match T20I series which will be super exciting and fun to watch.

Bangladesh players will eagerly wait for the game to resume, which will allow them to take their revenge for the 1st Test loss and win the game against India. Talking about the 1st Test, Indian skipper Rohit couldn't make the most of the opportunity as his scores were 6 and 5 in both innings respectively.
