The Indian team started the T20 World Cup with an 8-wicket win over Ireland. Their biggest win was against Pakistan where India defended the 120-run score to win by 6 runs before their win over USA. Rohit Sharma and his side will play their Super 8 games on June 20 followed by matches on the 22nd and 24th.

Huge Challenges expected in Super 8 stages for Team India

After their near comprehensive performances in the T20 World Cup group phase, the men in blue are expected to encounter stiff challenge going ahead. It is already known that India and Australia will lock horns in the Super 8 match on the 24th of June.

If India finish top of the Group A, they could face either Afghanistan or West Indies in their first Super-8 match on 20th June I Barbados. West Indies and Afghanistan will battle each other in their final Group C match with the Afghans having one foot in the next phase of the tournament.

Rohit Sharma and his men will then face either Bangladesh or Netherlands from Group D. Bangladesh’s win over Netherlands has put them in the second spot in the table with one final match left to be played against Nepal. The Dutch on the other hand will take on Sri Lanka who have been already knocked out of the tournament.

The match against Canada might be the chance for Virat Kohli to find his form at the top of the order. India’s former skipper has scored a mere 5 runs from three matches with his best of 4 coming in the against Pakistan. One more failure can end Kohli’s sojourn at the top with Yashasvi Jaiswal waiting in the wings.
