'I made my first class debut with him' - USA's star bowler speaks up about his connection with India's skipper Rohit Sharma

The USA cricket team has done wonders in recent matches where they have given tough competition to teams like India and Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. While they won their encounter against Pakistan, they lost a very close match against India. However, their performances were undoubtedly better than both teams.

USA's bowling is their strength and if they manage to qualify for the Super 8, some big teams might get a chance to face the upcoming star bowlers like Harmeet Singh, Saurabh Netravalkar, and Ali Khan. While talking about India, Harmeet Singh mentioned his connection with India's skipper, Rohit Sharma. 

"Growing up, I used to look up to Rohit Sharma. Rohit comes from my school, and he had just graduated when I entered. I made my first-class debut with him, and he played in the under-19 World Cup a few tournaments before me. It was really exciting to see someone from the suburbs of Mumbai going out there and conquering the world," said Harmeet Singh. 

'We kind of grew up playing for Mumbai together' - Saurabh Netravalkar on Suryakumar Yadav

Saurabh Netravalkar, the star bowler of the USA, who dismissed Virat Kohli on a golden duck, talked about his playing days with Suryakumar Yadav. Both Yadav and Netravalkar started their cricket journey together and have known each other for under 15 days. As per the pacer, Yadav had that strong flair in him which made everybody believe that he would become a star one day and that happened. 

"Suryakumar has been a close friend, actually. I've seen him since our under-15 days; we kind of grew up playing for Mumbai together. He was always special, scoring double hundreds and stuff in under-15 and under-17 matches. So, he had that flair about him, and we knew he would go on to do something special," said Saurabh Netravalkar.
