The highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 has been kicked off with the inaugural match between the co-hosts USA and Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on June 2. The USA started the tournament on a winning note with a 7-wicket win over Canada in the tournament opener.

Meanwhile, the former England skipper Michael Vaughan has come up with his prediction about the potential finalists of the ongoing 9th edition of the T20 World Cup. Interestingly, Vaughan ruled out the Asian giants, India and Pakistan from the contention of making it to the summit clash of the current edition of the prestigious cricket biennial.

‘The problem with this, we’re not sure about it, but still, the first one is Australia, I am not sure if it can be, but I am gonna go with Australia vs England,” said Vaughan on Club Prairie Fire podcast while making his prediction for the T20 World Cup 2024 Finalists.

Notably, both Australia and England are placed in the same group (B) in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The other teams alongside England and Australia are the associate nations, including Namibia, Scotland, and Oman. So considerably at first sight, it seems to be an easy draw for the Three Lions and the Aussies to make it to the super-8.

However, both the former World Champions might have a tough time in the super-8 round of the tournament, where they might be meeting some strong teams, including the likes of India, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and West Indies.

The defending champions England will be eyeing winning their third title in the history of the T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Australia will be looking ahead to repeat the glory that they achieved in the seventh edition of the tournament in 2021 after becoming the champions, beating New Zealand in the title clash of the tournament.
