The ongoing Borde Gavaskar Trophy 2024 between Australia and India has been among the top headlines in the cricketing world. Controversies and the heated and intense on-field altercations during the matches are things adding spice to this battle. Notably, the result of this series is going to play a vital role in deciding the fate of both teams in contention for the WTC final.
Meanwhile, the former Australia skipper and the star batter, Steve Smith has come up with a big statement while comparing the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In an interaction with ABC Sport, Aussie cricketers Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey, and Steve Smith, alongside skipper Pat Cummins were given the task to describe BCCI, ICC and Indian Cricket in a single word.
In the same vein, Lyon called BCCI ‘Big’, and ICC ‘the boss’ and used the word ‘passionate’ for the Indian Cricket.
However, apart from everyone’s response, it was former skipper Steve Smith who grabbed the attention for his response. Smudge termed BCCI the ‘powerhouse’ before going to describe the ICC as ‘not so powerful’. The modern-day batting immediately clarified on his funny take that he was just trying to joke out of it. Furthermore, he described the apex governing body of cricket as ‘the Leaders’.
The video of this comment from Smith is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by ABC Sport on X (formerly Twitter).

Smith will be in action for Australia in the upcoming highly anticipated Boxing Day Test against India. The fourth Test of the five-match series will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne from December 26 onwards. Currently, the series is levelled with the scoreline of 1-1 after the third Test at the Gabba ended in a draw.
