Australian cricket star Nathan Lyon joined the commentary panel on 7 Cricket as rains forced early lunch on day 1 in Brisbane. During the course of his conversation with the commentators, Lyon was held responsible for lights going out during Adelaide Test. At the end of the 1st day, the floodlights at the Adelaide Oval went out of order twice.
'Nathan Lyon was told, “The lights went off twice and you (Lyon) were the reason for that because you were nightwatchman and you wanted to go out and have a hit and you said to the bloke ‘put the lights on in the nets so that I can have a hit’ and he hit the wrong button twice and the whole ground’s lights off.”
Confirmed: Nathan Lyon wanting to have a bat in the nets led to the lights going out at Adelaide Oval 😂

Australian spinner Nathan Lyon responded with a smile on his face, “I couldn’t believe that, I was actually sitting out there in the dark and asked the security guy if you can put the lights on it would be great. Next minute it went off and am like I literally said ‘I reckon he has hit the wrong switch’. We sat out in the dark for about 15 minutes waiting to have a hit.”
Sanjay Bangar backs changes made by Team India for Brisbane Test
Former Indian star Sanjay Bangar backed Rohit Sharma’s call to make two changes from the previous game. Harshit Rana and R. Ashwin were benched as Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja came into the playing XI. Many fans were left confused behind the move as Brisbane turned a lot on the 4th and 5th of the Test.
Sanjay Bangar was asked to give his views on the changes while on commentary duties to which he replied, “Jadeja has always been the first choice spinner in overseas conditions and that's where India has won a lot of overseas test matches in recent times, and I was a little bit surprised that, maybe the team management would have got swayed away by the performances of Washington Sundar in the previous test series against New Zealand, but those conditions were totally different."
The former Indian star also mentioned, “I'm glad that they resorted to someone like a Jadeja, who may not have to do a lot of work in the first innings. His record as a batter also helps the team get useful runs in the lower order of the innings as well, which has been significant in helping one win overseas matches."
