SRH vs MI: Players to wear black armbands, no fireworks or cheerleaders - find out why

The entire nation was shaken when over 27 people were killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, as they all were gunned down by terrorists on April 23rd. The aftershock of this tragedy will be felt in the Indian Premier League 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians that is all set to take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

The Indian Cricket Board has revealed that the MI and SRH players and the umpires on the field will wear black armbands in remembrance of the victims in Pahalgam. It has also been reported that there will be no fireworks at all during the game, and cheerleaders will also not be performing. There will also be one minute of silence before the match begins.

This tragedy has definitively affected the nation and prompted widespread condemnation, including from top political and sports figures  like Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Gautam Gambhir, and Virender Sehwag.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians seem to have found their form after a poor start. They have four victories to their name and sit at the sixth spot. A win in this game will allow them to stay alive in the marquee event. They are heading to this game with three back-to-back wins and will be looking to topple SRH.

On the other hand, SRH are languishing at the ninth spot of the points table with just two wins to their name. Pat Cummins and his men need to win this game to maintain their playoff hopes, as a loss would put them on the brink of elimination.
