Popular Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam’s Instagram posts were unexpectedly flooded with hateful comments after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) supporters mistakenly identified him as Vipraj Nigam, the Delhi Capitals bowler who dismissed Virat Kohli in Thursday’s IPL 2025 match. The incident occurred following Kohli’s unexpected early dismissal for just 22 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, leaving fans disappointed.
The former captain of RCB was dismissed during the seventh over of the innings as he attempted an inside-out stroke off Vipraj's delivery but failed to reach the boundary line. Mitchell Starc sprinted in and took an amazing catch to send Kohli back to the pavilion. In the powerplay, uncapped Indian all-rounder Vipraj Nigam and pacer Mukesh Kumar exerted pressure after conceding more than 60 runs in the first four overs.

As DC struggled initially in the game, Virat Kohli followed back to the pavilion for 22 off 14 balls. Before getting out, Kohli was part of Phil Salt's tragic run-out, who scored 37 off 17 deliveries. Although openers Salt and Kohli scored good runs during the powerplay, the host team fell from 61/0 in the fifth over of the innings to 117/6 in the 15th over.
KL Rahul helped DC to maintain winning streak
As Liam Livingstone was dismissed by Mohit Sharma, Axar began to use his bowlers strategically, and RCB found it difficult to gain momentum. RCB reached 100 in 11.4 overs after being 50 for 0 in 30 overs. Nevertheless, Tim David's undefeated 37, which included a smashing 19 runs off the last six balls, put the finishing touch. In the end, Delhi Capitals managed to extend their winning streak in IPL 2025. Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel had previously won the toss and chosen to field first. With the help of KL Rahul's strong batting performance helped DC continued their dream start.
KL Rahul returned to haunt his old team in Bengaluru, continuing his amazing run of form against RCB. He scored 93 runs off 53 balls and took the responsibility to win the game. The hosts were forced to regret not taking advantage of their outstanding start as Delhi managed to chase down the score of 164 in 17.5 overs with six wickets remaining.
