Veteran Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket on Saturday (August 24). The southpaw, who led the Indian top order for nearly a decade, has not been a part of the team in any format in recent years. 

Dhawan has represented the Men in Blue in 269 matches across formats and has scored over 10000 runs. The 38-year-old has been a reliable batsman for the team, especially in major tournaments. He played a key role in India's 2013 Champions Trophy victory, winning the Player of the Series. Dhawan was also the highest run-scorer for India in the 2017 Champions Trophy and the 2015 ODI World Cup.

He owns several properties, including a luxury bungalow in Delhi, worth around Rs 6 crore. He also reportedly owns properties in Gurugram, Mumbai and Australia.

'Gabbar' is also very fond of expensive cars and bikes. His car collection includes the Mercedes GL350 CDI, BMW 6 GT, Audi A6 and Range Rover sports car. His garage is also filled with a collection of Suzuki Hayabusa, Harley Davidson Fat Boy and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. 

Dhawan has earned a lot from the BCCI and IPL during his professional career. He was placed in the Grade A category, under which he used to earn Rs 5 crore annually. At the same time, he was given a massive amount of Rs 8.25 crore for playing for PBKS in IPL.
