Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta moves to the state high court against one of the co-owners of the franchise, Mohit Burman, to take legal action with a restraining order. Mohit holds a total of 48 percent shares in the KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited where Preity Zinta holds shares as well along with Ness Wadia.

But the problem arose because Mohit wanted to sell his shares to a third party without obtaining the consent of the existing partners. As per reports, Preity is completely against it because according to an internal pact, the shares have to be offered to the existing parties first before involving any third parties. This is the reason why PBKS co-owner Preity moved to the HC.

"Preity Zinta said Burman holds approximately 48 percent of the shareholding and is also on the board of directors. She has filed the petition under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act-1996 seeking interim measures and direction in view of the disputes and differences between her and respondent Mohit Burman," The Tribune reported.

The franchises put in a lot of effort into the auction to form their combinations: Kavya Maran

During the meeting with the BCCI management, SRH Co-owner Kavya Maran talked about how the players should be banned who leave the tournament in between. As per Kavya, franchise owners put in a lot of effort in buying players and putting it in a team. When the players leave in between, it becomes difficult to stick to the plan and hence, she has urged the management to ban the players who opt out in between the tournaments.

"After being selected in the auction, if a player doesn't come to play the season for any reason apart from injury, he should be banned. The franchises put in a lot of effort into the auction to form their combinations. If a player goes for a low amount in the auction, and subsequently doesn't turn up, it affects the combination and the balance of the side. There have been many instances of overseas players not turning up for this reason," Maran told Cricbuzz.
