Veteran Indian cricket star Shardul Thakur regained his form and picked 4 wickets for Mumbai on Tuesday. This helped his side win their 4th game of the Syed Mushtaq Ali 2024 tournament after beating Services by 39 runs. In the last game, Thakur was smashed for 69 runs just days after going unsold during IPL Auctions.

The 33-year-old first dismissed Nitin Tanwar for a duck caught by Jay Bista. This was followed by the wicket of Kunwar Pathak who was out for 14 caught by Suryakumar Yadav. Thakur then dismissed Vineet Dhankar for a duck and got his 4th wicket when he bowled Gaurav Kochar for six runs. Mohit Ahlawat was the best batter for Services with 54 off 40 balls. 

Mumbai were put into bat and scored a massive 192/4 from their 20 overs. Prithvi Shaw was out for a duck. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane perished for 22 after facing 18 balls. Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube added 130 runs for the 4th wicket in 11 overs. Yadav was out for 70 off 46 balls while Dube was not out on 71 off 36 balls with 2 fours and 7 sixes. 

Urvil Patel continues dream form, Andhra Pradesh demolishes Kerala

Gujarat beat Uttarakhand by 8 wickets as Urvil Patel scored his 2nd century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. Urvil Patel had scored a century off just 28 balls against Tripura few days ago to set the tournament on fire. Uttarakhand batted first and scored 182/7 with 54-run knocks by Samarth and Aditya Tare. Urvil Patel scored 115 not out from 41 balls with 8 fours and 11 sixes. 

Bengal beat Bihar by 9 wickets with Mohammed Shami bowling 4 overs and picking 1/19. Sakibul Gani was the best batter for Bihar with 79 to help his side reach 147. Karan Lal scored 94 not out from 47 balls to help Bengal win the game. Jammu and Kashmir beat a star studded Uttar Pradesh side by 6 wickets. 

UP batted first and scored 157/6 from their 20 overs with Shivam Mavi top scoring with 45. Nitish Rana scored a duck while Rinku Singh and Sameer Rizvi scored 24 and 25 runs each. In reply, Shubham Khajuria’s 85 not out helped J and K win by 6 wickets. Andhra Pradesh bowled out Kerala for 87 and went onto win the game by 6 wickets. 

In other games played on Tuesday, Vidarbha beat Chhattisgarh by 16 runs. Odisha beat Assam by 63 runs in a game that was reduced to 9-over per side. Haryana beat Himachal Pradesh by 7 wickets in Mumbai. Saurashtra continued their winning run as they walloped Tamil Nadu by 58 runs after scoring 235 on the board. Madhya Pradesh held their nerves to beat Hyderabad by 7 runs in Rajkot.
