Harvik Desai
In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, Harvik Desai hit 24 runs against R. Sai Kishore in the 99th game. Playing for Saurashtra, Desai hit two sixes and three boundaries in the match against Tamil Nadu. Kishore is a brilliant bowler with an overall economy rate in T20 cricket of 5.83. In the shorter format, he's been excellent and hence, Gujarat Titans used their RTM card for him in the mega auction.
However, the bowler was hit for 24 runs in a single over, which might have destroyed his confidence a bit. Opener Harvik didn't care about the IPL bowler and just went for it. All the sixes were clean hits and the boundaries were just astounding. Hardik scored 55 runs in 34 balls including five boundaries and four sixes.

Apart from him, Prerak Mankad scored 43 runs in 26 balls, Ruchit Ahir scored 56 runs in 30 balls, including three boundaries and four sixes, and Sammar Gajjar scored 55 runs in 27 balls, including three boundaries and five sixes. With the help of these players, Saurashtra went on to score 235 runs in 20 overs.
Tamil Nadu batters' poor performance continues
After Gurjapneet Singh claimed three wickets in the first innings, 235 runs seemed a bit too for the Tamil Nadu batters. The opening pair failed massively, and then the wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. There was no standout batting performance by any player, which will definitely lead to their defeat.
Boopathi Kumar scored a blistering half-century, but the target seems to be in a faraway land. As we write, Tamil Nadu requires 106 runs in 30 balls at the loss of five wickets. While one set batter is out there in the crease, chasing 106 runs in just five overs isn't an easy job.
