Bangladesh's all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been accused of murdering a young boy during the unrest that happened in the country in August. Backing his teammate, Bangladesh Test skipper Nazmul Hossain said that all the players stand in Shakib's favour as he is innocent and wasn't involved in the incident. A citizen of Bangladesh, Rafiqul Islam, filed a case against Shakib and 147 people in search of justice for his son's murder at Dhaka's Adabor police station.

"The matter of Shakib Bhai is a different issue. However, every player supports Shakib Bhai. We all know how dedicated he is to playing and how passionate he is about the game. He always thinks of the team first. If the issue is discussed with the Chief Advisor during the reception, every player will be on the side of Shakib," said Nazmul Hossain, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

All the former players have sided with Shakib since he is dedicated to his game and passion. The Board allowed Shakib to play in the Pakistan series even though he shouldn't be allowed to play. However, the case is at the investigation stage, and Shakib was representing his country, so he got the opportunity to play in the series.

Bangladesh to play against India in 2-match Test series

Bangladesh is set to tour India for a 2-match Test series starting on September 19. All the senior players from India will play in the match against Bangladesh, increasing the game's excitement. The visitors will be in a confident mindset since they have whitewashed Pakistan in their own backyard. However, this series wouldn't be the same as the one in Pakistan.

India's team will be tough with players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and many more. They were rested from the Duleep Trophy 2024, keeping the injury aspect in mind. Now, all the players will come together to play against Bangladesh as the Test series falls under the WTC 2025 cycle.
