Saint Lucia Kings scripted a historic win against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by five wickets in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. They chased down the target of 202 runs after being down for 24/4 in 3.5 overs. The credit goes to Bhanuka Rajapaksa for holding the innings from one end while the wickets kept tumbling from one end. Then, Tim Seifert and David Wiese walked in, taking the team past the victory line with their marvellous performance.

While it felt like the Kings would have lost the match during the powerplay, they made a brilliant comeback in the end, finishing the game in just 17.2 overs. Wiese hit a boundary to win the game, which was the icing on the cake.

Rajapaksa scored 68 runs off 35 balls, including six boundaries and four sixes, and Seifert scored 64 runs off 27 balls, which included four boundaries and six sixes. All the other batters scored in single digits, which created a problem in the first half, but the others successfully managed to win the game.

Evin Lewis smashes a century against Saint Lucia Kings

In the first innings, Evin Lewis turned a nightmare for the Saint Lucia Kings as he hit an unbeaten century in just 54 balls, including seven boundaries and nine huge sixes. The crowd loved his attacking gameplay as he kept on smashing the bowlers out of the park. Along with him, Kyle Mayers showed his skills against the bowlers, scoring 92 runs off 62 balls.

His innings included six boundaries and seven sixes. Both the batters wreaked havoc on the bowling team, but the Kings were fortunate enough to win the game thanks to Rajapaksa and Seifert. This was the Kings' first win in the tournament, and they are in third place on the points table. On the other hand, the Patriots are in fifth place with one win in three games.
