Rohit Sharma abusing Kuldeep Yadav (Photograph: x)
For the second game in a row, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was seen getting angry at his teammate. This time the player in question was Kuldeep Yadav who failed to collect a throw on Virat Kohli. The incident happened in the fifth ball of the 32nd over when Smith played the ball to Kohli and took a single.
India’s former skipper who was fielding at deep mid-wicket flung in the throw to the bowler’s end. Kuldeep let the ball go and Rohit was there to back up the throw and wasn’t impressed. As soon as the bowler waited for the ball to be thrown back Rohit was seen giving Kuldeep Yadav a mouthful.

Even Virat Kohli was seen getting angry at the lazy effort by the bowler. Indian fielding has come under pressure after their poor effort in the last match against New Zealand. In the last match, Rohit directed his rage towards KL Rahul who had dropped an easy catch of Kane Williamson off Axar Patel’s bowling.
Steve Smith’s half-century puts Australia on the cusp of competitive total
Australia had made a good start to the game as they were able to reach 63 runs for the loss of two wickets after ten overs. Mohammed Shami who had dropped Travis Head soon got the wicket of Cooper Connolly for zero. Varun Chakravarthy then got the key wicket of Travis Head for 33-ball 39.
The third wicket stand between Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith was worth 56 which came in 85 balls. Both batters saw a period of play where there was no boundary scored for 50 balls. Labuschagne then broke the shackles with two fours and a six in quick time.
Indian star Ravindra Jadeja then got two wickets to pull India back into the contest. The 36-year-old first had Labuschagne LBW for 29. This was followed by the wicket of Josh Inglis caught by Virat Kohli for 11 runs. Steve Smith though batted well and reached his fifty off 68 balls with four hits to the fence. The Aussie skipper was given a lifeline when Shami dropped his second return catch this time to his left-hand.
