As the debate rages on, former India batter and a teammate of Kohli have come out in his defense. Robin Uthappa while speaking to cricket.com said that Virat Kohli backed up whatever he said with his performances.
Amit Mishra was recently on a podcast hosted by Shubhankar Mishra and said that over the years there were plenty of changes in Kohli. This comment caused a stir on social media.
Robin Uthappa while speaking to cricket.com said “I have actually seen Virat kind of evolve from a brash young Delhi boy to an evolved human being. You know the evolution has been quite tremendous, to be honest. Today he's practically reaping what he had sown 15 years ago”

Robin Uthappa shares his past recollection of Virat Kohli
Former Indian batter Robin Uthappa shared the dressing room with Virat Kohli for the national side and also in the IPL. Speaking about the former India and RCB skipper, Uthappa said “One of the things that has always stood out to me about Cheeku has been his conviction in himself”
Robin Uthappa also said “"When I listen to a young 19-year-old Virat Kohli, you know talking about himself or his conviction in himself, you'll get mortified, you'll be like 'What is this dude talking about?'. "But fast forward 10 years and you be like 'Okay now that makes sense”
Virat Kohli came into the team on the back of winning the Under-19 World Cup in 2008. After a difficult first few years, the young Virat Kohli worked on his fitness and became the batter that he is today.
While chatting about Virat Kohli’s obsession, Robin Uthappa said “A lot of these things is all fluff and no stuff, but Virat showed us that there was stuff behind the talk as well. He is obsessed”
The former India batter ended by narrating an incident about Virat Kohli “I remember went last year to interview some of the RCB boys, and finished his interview, and then the next thing you know that he's in the gym, and he doesn't need to be, but he was there in the gym, hashing out an hour-long workout before he went back and spent time with his family”
