The left-handed batter took a special liking to Jofra Archer as he smashed a huge six. The incident in question happened in the fifth ball of the third. Archer bowled a short ball and De Kock was ready for it and pulled it deep into the mid-wicket stand. Riyan Parag could only watch in disbelief to the shot played by the former Proteas star.
Rajasthan Royals who were put into bat managed to score 151 runs for the loss of nine wickets from their 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel was the best batter for his team with 33 runs while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 29 and Riyan Parag hit 25 runs. At the half way stage of the innings, KKR had scored 70 runs for the loss of one wicket needing 82 off 60 balls.
Quinton de Kock puts KKR on course for easy win
Moeen Ali came out to open the batting with de Kock and the pair added 41 for the opening wicket. Ali scored five runs from 12 balls before he was run-out. The English star turned blindly for a second run as Maheesh Theekshana threw the ball to Parag who whipped off the bails.
KKR got off to a slow start as only seven runs were scored in the first two overs which included a boundary by de Kock off Theekshana. De Kock then hit two sixes first one off Archer and then one off Theekshana in the fourth over to set the wheels in motion. The next two overs produced 22 runs for KKR.
Rahane who had scored a fifty in the last match came out with positive intent and rotated the strike well. Rahane then hit Theekshana for a huge six to put the pressure back on the RR bowlers. KKR’s opening batter kept piling on the runs to keep his team in the hunt for their first win of the season.
