On Sunday, June 8, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Priya Saroj and Indian cricketer Rinku Singh are set to tie the knot. The location of the ring ceremony is a hotel in Lucknow. After helping the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) miss out on the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Rinku will begin a new chapter in his life.
With a strike rate of 153.73 and an average of 29.42, Rinku amassed 206 runs in 13 games, with a high score of 153.73. The Knight Riders won five of their fourteen games, putting them in eighth place in the standings with 12 points and a net run rate of -0.305. The father of Priya Saroj and the SP MLA from Kerakat, Tufani Saroj, stated back in January that his family had "meaningful discussions" about a possible marriage between their daughter and Rinku Singh's father in Aligarh.
He claims that both families agreed on the partnership. Additionally, according to Tufani, Priya and Rinku met through a common acquaintance whose father plays cricket. "Rinku and Priya have known each other for more than a year now. They both liked each other but needed their families' consent for the relationship. Both families have agreed to this marriage," he said.

Rinku Singh made huge name in IPL 2023
Priya Saroj, who is from Varanasi's Karkhiyaon hamlet, has been an active member of the Samajwadi Party (SP) for a number of years. She was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2024, serving as the representative for the Jaunpur district's Machhlishahr seat. Priya, a former Supreme Court attorney, initially gained notoriety during her father's 2022 campaign for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. She graduated with a law degree from Amity University in Noida and an arts degree from Delhi University.
When Rinku struck five straight sixes off Yash Dayal in a match against the Gujarat Titans during the 2023 IPL, he became well-known. Since then, he has played for India in 33 Twenty20 Internationals and two One-Day Internationals, amassing 601 runs, including three half-centuries and a high score of 69.
