The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have devised a new plan for the salaries of overseas players which will now depend on the Indian players. In recent developments, the Board has finally released all the rules and regulations for the upcoming IPL season and the mega auction, including the impact player rule.

However, one of the most important rules is the salary determination of foreign players will now depend on the salaries of Indian players in the auction. As per the new policy and reports, if an Indian player is receiving INR 16 crores in the IPL 2025 auction, then no foreign player's salary will exceed the amount of INR 16 crores in IPL 2025.

Reports suggest that if any foreign receives more than an Indian player in the auction, then the rest of the amount will go to BCCI for players' welfare. So now, the franchises will have to be attentive while making their bids, as they wouldn't want their money to go back to the BCCI after the auction.

One more crucial rule for overseas players is that if any player gets picked up in the auction and refuses to play under any circumstances, he will be banned for two years from the tournament. This is a huge step by the BCCI, which will raise a lot of eyebrows in foreign lands.

The recent policies show that the Board is looking for the upliftment of the Indian players, which is indeed a good thing. BCCI is set to give additional match fees to the Indians apart from their auction money. Due to the outstanding performances in the IPL, the Board has decided to give INR 7.5 lakhs per game to the Indian cricketer. Apart from this, the auction purse has increased by 20%, which is a great move.

Now, the franchises will have INR 120 crores. Another important policy is the Impact player rule, which will be continued up until 2027. Even though many players, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, had opposed it, the Board's decision remains unchanged.
