Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is a big concern for Team India. The star pace spearhead has been included in the squad for the prestigious cricket quadrennial. But in a setback for the Indian camp, Bumrah happened to miss the ongoing three-match ODI series against England.

He underwent scans at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still awaiting clearance from the NCA.

It all started when the star India pacer sustained a back injury in the fifth and last Test of the five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia earlier this year.

A report in the Times of India suggests that “Once the medical team at the NCA completes their assessment, they will communicate their findings to the Indian team management. Bumrah’s injury update could also involve input from Dr. Rowan Schouten, a renowned medical expert from New Zealand, who was consulted previously when Bumrah underwent his first scan in Australia last month.”

Notably, the final decision on Bumrah’s availability to be a part of the Indian squad for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025. His presence is going to play a vital role in India’s hopes to clinch the Champions Trophy title for the third. The men in blue will be eyeing ending their 12-year-long wait to lift the title.
