The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) isn't going well for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team for several reasons. They are at the bottom of the points table with one win and five losses. The 30th match of the IPL 2024 is between the RCB and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. While SRH are in their prime form, they will look to continue their momentum in this match as well. However, it's high time for RCB to start performing well or else they might end at the bottom which they wouldn't want at all. Hence, ahead of the clash against SRH, RCB need to fix their team and make some necessary changes that might benefit them during the match.
Hence, we'll discuss three things the RCB team needs to do ahead of the match against SRH:
1. Inclusion of Yash Dayal
Since RCB's bowling line-up is not in good condition, they should look for players with good economy which will be beneficial for the team. If we talk about the economy, Yash Dayal has been quite economical in the matches he has played for the team. He might not have gotten many wickets, but economy-wise he was better than Mohammed Siraj. Hence, RCB should take a bold move and drop Siraj for one or two games and try out the variety of options that they have in the dugout.
2. Change Will Jacks' batting position
Will Jacks's inclusion in the team was a good move by the RCB management, but making him play in the middle order is not a good call. Jacks is an excellent opener and should be given a chance to open along with Faf du Plessis. Making a change in the batting order might be beneficial for the RCB team as Virat Kohli can play at No. 3 as well, which he has mostly done his entire career. That will also increase the middle order of the team.
3. Spin attack should step up
RCB is over depending on their pace attack which isn't giving them results at all. Hence, they should change their focus to spin attacks and try to make them work during matches. At this point, including Karn Sharma might be the safest option for RCB as he is an experienced bowler who can get breakthroughs at important times. He has played a lot of IPL matches and knows the players and the ground well, so trying him out in a couple of matches might help RCB.
