After Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, yet another player has put an end to the retirement rumors. The player in question is none other than Ravindra Jadeja. The 36-year-old played a key role for India in the Champions Trophy 2025 title win. Jadeja scored nine, not out, including the winning hit, as well as taking the key wicket of Tom Latham.

Jadeja posted a story on his Instagram handle and wrote, “No unnecessary rumours, thanks”. There were a few reports that many of the senior members of the side could call time on their ODI career, irrespective of the result in the final. Jadeja, along with Rohit and Virat, had retired from the T20I format after India won the World Cup in June last year.

The veteran cricketer was part of the team that won the title in 2013 and reached the finals in 2017. Once the game was done, Jadeja was seen doing the Gangnam style with teammates Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. India’s veteran star was later seen enjoying the celebratory moments with his wife and daughter in Dubai.

‘Either a hero or zero’ – Ravindra Jadeja exclaims after CT2025 title win

36-year-old Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was asked to speak about his feelings after hitting the winning runs on Sunday. Jadeja replied, “My batting number is such that I’m either a hero or a zero at the end of the games. Luckily KL (Rahul) and Hardik (Pandya) did well in that partnership, them scoring runs was a game-changing moment”

“The wicket wasn’t easy going into bat at first, it’s an important tournament, playing for India and winning the Champions Trophy for the country is so big. You do regret when you don’t be part of winning teams after having played for so many years. But I’m lucky that I have managed to be fit enough and performed at the highest level in winning the two tournaments, the 2024 T20 WC and the Champions Trophy now”

In five matches, Jadeja picked five wickets with the ball to take his overall Champions Trophy haul to 21 wickets. His best performance came in the game against Australia, where he picked two wickets for 40 runs. With the bat, Jadeja scored 27 runs with a best of 16 in the final league match against New Zealand.
