The magical off-spinner of India, Ravichandran Ashwin, scored a century in the first and claimed a fifer in the second innings of the 1st Test match between India and Bangladesh. The talismanic off-spinner ensured the game ended on the fourth day with his brilliant bowling. Moreover, India won the game by 280 runs, and the Player of the Match award was given to Ashwin for his magnificent performance.

This was the fourth time Ashwin scored a century and claimed a fifer in the same Test match, and he has now become the second player after Ian Botham to achieve this feat. In the 1st Test match against Bangladesh, Ashwin scored a fighting century in the first innings when India needed him the most. He made a 199-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja to get India past 300-run mark. The off-spinner scored 113 runs off 133 balls, including 11 boundaries and two sixes.

When Bangladesh came in to chase 515 runs in the 2nd innings, Ashwin stood like a wall and didn't allow the batters to score runs. Captain Shanto scored 82 runs and led the team like a lone wolf. However, none of the other players could sustain themselves in front of India's bowling attack, which led to their defeat. Moreover, Ashwin also equaled the number of fifers as legendary Australian spin wizard Shane Warne.

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant slammed a blistering century in 1st Test match

The young lads of the Indian team showed their potential in the 1st Test match against Bangladesh when Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant slammed a blistering century on day three, helping India post a target of 515 runs. While Gill scored 119 runs off 176 balls, Pant scored 109 runs off 128 balls. Both were sensational throughout the innings but Pant's aura was completely different.

When Gill scored a half-century, Pant was way behind him in terms of runs, but he switched gears really fast and scored his century before him. India won the game quite comfortably as the Ashwin wreaked havoc on the Bangladesh batters. He claimed six wickets in the second innings and didn't allow the players to play him. The last game will start on September 27 and India will be eyeing for a series whitewash.
