'Rarely comes a leader who...' - Suryakumar Yadav pens heartfelt Instagram post for Rohit Sharma

Star India batter Suryakumar Yadav penned down an emotional and heartfelt post for his long-time friend and India’s modern-day cricketing great, Rohit Sharma. SKY’s post came immediately after the inauguration of the new ‘Rohit Sharma Stand’ at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Suryakumar Yadav also lauded Rohit for his amazing leadership skills and the way he led both MI and India with his exemplary performances. The MI batter also credited the former skipper for his fearless and selfless approach.

“Congratulations, Rohit Sharma, on achieving incredible things on the cricket ground, from finisher to opener to our captain, you have been an inspiration and our pride, in every role,” wrote Suryakumar Yadav in his Instagram post for Rohit, including a picture with him.

“Very rarely comes a leader who leads from the front, and changes the game for the better. You are that leader who has changed not just the game, but the approach, the attitude, the dressing room atmosphere, the team and redefined the role of a captain,” he added later.

Furthermore, SKY also mentioned the addition of the ‘Rohit Sharma Stand’ at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

“Like I have said before, good things happen to good people, and you deserve it all and more. Wankhede just got even more iconic,” he wrote.

Currently, Suryakumar Yadav and former skipper Rohit Sharma are in action for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL 2025. Both batters are in the list of ‘leading run-scorers for MI in the tournament’s current edition. SKY has scored 510 runs in 12 innings, including four unbeaten appearances and has an outstanding average of 63.75, with three half-centuries.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has also scored 300 runs in 11 innings, with an average of 30.00, hitting three half-centuries.
