Samit looking to follow his father’s legendary footsteps

Just like his father Rahul Dravid, young Samit is a very good batter. He also can bowl well and pick up wickets. Samit Dravid has been earmarked as a future star in the Karnataka circles.

Rahul Dravid made his India debut in 1996 before his retirement in early 2012. The former Indian skipper then became a coach having success with the Under-19 team. This was followed by his long stint with the senior national team where India reached the World Test Championships and ODI World Cup finals in 2023.

After persuasion by Rohit Sharma, the former Indian great decided to extend his stint. This culminated with the Indian side winning the T20 World Cup in June. As per reports, Rahul Dravid will soon be seen in the dugout with a move to Rajasthan Royals close.

Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar was a guest on the Rao Podcast. When asked how long can Rohit Sharma play, the former India star said, “I think Rohit will continue to play as long as his body and fitness allow him to. Because a player of that quality – Sachin played till 40, even Rahul played till 40 – with better fitness standards, more professionals are looking after players. Like a lot of nutritionists also are helping.”
