Here are 3 player battles to Watch Out for in Pakistan vs Bangladesh – Champions Trophy 2025
Babar Azam vs Taskin Ahmed

Former Pakistan skipper and star batter Babar Azam hasn’t been in an expected run of form in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025. He played the knocks of 64 and 23 runs, respectively; out of these two knocks, the 64-run knock against New Zealand was a sluggish one which faced criticism. However, Babar’s class can’t be underestimated as he will be eyeing a comeback in the game against Bangladesh.
Babar might face a tough challenge from the star Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed who has been in a decent run of form with the ball so far. Taskin has bowled two brilliantly economical spells in the last two games against India and New Zealand, conceding only 36 and 28 runs, respectively to scalp 2 wickets.
Bangladesh skipper and star opener Najmul Hossain Shanto played a crucial knock of 77 runs off 110 balls, with nine fours in the last game against New Zealand. However, his efforts ended on the losing side but his current batting form will be a sign of relief for his side in the next game against Pakistan.
Pakistan will look ahead to tackle the ‘Shanto’ challenge with their star pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi, who will be bowling with the new ball in the powerplay overs. So, it will be an interesting battle to watch out for.
Mohammad Rizwan vs Mustafizur Rahman

Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan played a 46-run knock in the last game against the arch-rivals India. He will look ahead to pace up his batting approach in the next clash against Bangladesh. Rizwan’s batting position at number four will also play a crucial role in deciding Pakistan's fate during their batting.
Rizwan will also have to go through the tough test of the veteran Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who has been one of the economical and impactful bowlers for his side despite two defeats. Rahman might produce some serious questions to answer for Mohammad Rizwan in the upcoming Pakistan vs Bangladesh game.
