Star New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra smashed an iconic century on his ODI comeback after an injury hiatus. His 112-run knock helped New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the sixth Champions Trophy 2025 game. It was also the debut game for Rachin Ravindra in the ICC Champions Trophy.
The match was played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Monday. The Kiwi skipper won the toss and asked Bangladesh to bat first; batting first, Bangladesh were restricted to a total of 236 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Skipper Shanto played a crucial knock of 77 runs off 110 balls, with nine fours. Later around the end of the innings, Jaker Ali also scored 45 runs off 55 balls, with three fours and a six followed by Rishad Hossain’s 26 runs off 25 balls, with two fours and a six.
Star all-rounder Michael Bracewell displayed a sensational performance with the ball, scalping 4 wickets at just 26 runs in his 10 overs. He registered an outstanding economy rate of just 2.60. Besides Bracewell, William O’Rourke also picked 2 wickets at 48 runs, including a maiden over in his 10 overs, alongside a wicket each claimed by Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson.
Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham guide New Zealand’s comfortable run chase
While chasing the target, New Zealand lost two wickets early at a total of 15 runs in 3.3 overs. Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra stitched a 57-run partnership for the third wicket to stabilize the innings before Conway got bowled by Mustafizur Rahman. Then came a decisive and match-winning partnership of 129 runs between Rachin Ravindra and the last game’s hero Tom Latham for the fourth wicket.
Rachin Ravindra got dismissed after scoring a game-changing century, with 112 runs off just 105 balls, with 12 fours and a six. Tom Latham also scored a half-century knock, hitting 55 runs off 76 balls, with three fours.

Eventually, the Blackcaps chased down the target in overs and won the game by 5 wickets, scoring 240 runs for losing 5 wickets in 46.1 overs. It was also his comeback game in the ODIs and his first-ever ICC Champions Trophy appearance.
