Pakistan Cricket Board announces T20 World Cup 2024 squad (File Photo: Internet)
In a recent piece of news, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the squad of the men in green for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The team under the captaincy of Babar Azam is currently in action in the four-match T20I series against England in England.
The ongoing series against England is being seen as Pakistan’s road to preparations for the highly anticipated upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to be played in the USA and West Indies. The 2009 World T20 Champions will be playing under the captaincy of Babar Azam in the prestigious cricket biennial.
Before the ongoing T20I series against England, Pakistan were in action against Ireland in the three-match T20I series, where they claimed the series by 2-1, with two consecutive wins in the second and third T20I following an unexpected defeat in the first T20I of the series.
Returning to Pakistan’s T20 WC 2024 campaign, they are placed in Group A, alongside the arch-rivals India and the co-hosts USA with Canada and Ireland as two other teams. Babar Azam’s men will start their WC campaign with their first match against the co-hosts USA on Thursday, June 6 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie.
Later, the men in green will play the high-octane clash of the tournament against the arch-rivals, India on Sunday, June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
