Mumbai Indians star bowler Vignesh Puthur received a special award from franchise owner Nita Ambani after his magnificent debut against Chennai Super Kings on March 23 at MA Chidambaram Cricket Stadium in Chennai. The new spin sensation has picked up three wickets against the hosts in their first IPL clash and marked his stellar impression with his bowling spells.

Vignesh Puthur's magnificent IPL debut steals the spotlight

The left-arm wrist spinner ended his first game of the Indian Premier League debut with the bowling figures of 3/32 and posed a big threat to CSK after making his way to the game as an impact player, replacing the batting stalwart Rohit Sharma. In addition to this, the 24-year-old star bowler also received kind words from MS Dhoni, who came over to the young sensation congratulating him and sharing a kind gesture.

After the conclusion of the game, Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani came to announce the best bowler of the team during their opening clash. The Kerala-born star went on to get a special award, which he was put on his MI jersey by Nita Ambani. Following that, the 24-year-old bowler thanked Mumbai Indians for giving him a chance to make his IPL debut against a formidable opponent.

Puthur further went on to thanking the Mumbai Indians stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadabv for always being supportive towards the young bowling sensation and said that he was the reason he didn't feel any pressure in the end.

"I want to thank MI franchise for giving me the opportunity to play the match. I never thought in my life I would play with all these players. I am very happy. We could've won today. Thank you so much team. Also, our captain. Surya bhai was very supportive. That is why I never felt that much pressure. Thanks for supporting me," said Vignesh in the video.
