Follow UsThe poor run of form for the former India skipper and the modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli, continues in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The batting stalwart went back to the pavilion on a golden duck against the USA in the third group-stage match of India in the tournament.
The India-born USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar trapped Kohli as the latter attempted a shot on an ‘outside the off-stump’ delivery and ended up giving an easy catch to the USA wicketkeeper Andries Gous.
Earlier in the last two matches against Ireland and Pakistan, Kohli could score only the single-digit scores of 1 and 4 runs, respectively.
Speaking of the current action of the match between USA and India, the men in blue are currently chasing the target of 111 runs in the second innings; they had scored 104 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 17.1 overs at the time of filling this copy. India’s top-3 batters went back to the pavilion at the team’s score of 44 runs in 7.3 overs.
Saurabh Netravalkar has scalped 2 wickets so far for USA in the second innings, alongside one wicket picked by Ali Khan.

Arshdeep Singh's fiery spell restricts USA in the first innings
Earlier in the first innings, USA posted a total of 110 runs for losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Opener Steven Taylor and middle-order batter, Nitish Kumar played the crucial knocks of 24 and 27 runs, respectively for their side.
Star India pacer Arshdeep Singh bowled a sensational spell, scalping 4 wickets at the cost just 9 runs in his entire spell of 4 overs. Besides him, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya also bagged 1 and 2 wickets, respectively.
