The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally announced Morne Morkel as India's bowling coach, and his first assignment will start against Bangladesh. After Gautam Gambhir, Morkel's appointment has been made official, and he can start his work on the upcoming series. The former South African speedster was the bowling coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the IPL.

Now, he'll be working with the Indian team, and his contract will begin on September 1. Morkel and Gambhir shared a brilliant partnership in the IPL and now will try to make their stint even more worthy and successful. Moreover, when Gambhir went to Lucknow Super Giants, Morkel also accompanied him. This shows that their bond is quite strong, and they love working together.

Before becoming the IPL team's coach, Mornal was a valuable member of the KKR team. In the IPL, he has played 70 matches and taken 77 wickets at an economy rate of 7.69. He was also a part of the Delhi Capitals and the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Moreover, he was a successful player for the Proteas and had a good cricket career.

India have beaten Australia twice on the last two tours: Ravi Shastri

India's biggest assignment will be the 5-match Test series against Australia on their home soil, which will start in November. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is a test of the players' patience and perseverance. Now that India has won the previous two times in Australia, the hosts will be hungry to dismantle the Indian lineup. Hence, former coach Ravi Shastri said that India has a high chance of defeating Australia in the Test series.

Shastri said, "Remember, India have beaten Australia twice on the last two tours and Australia have not had a hand on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in almost a decade and that's the reason why everyone will be waiting for these two heavyweights of Test match cricket over the last five to eight years to go head-to-head."
