Mohsin Naqvi requests ICC for alternatives plans to schedule tri-series between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka

Mohsin Naqvi wrote a letter to ICC and wanted them to find alternative plans to reschedule the tri series between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. The series, which was set to take place in Pakistan, is an uncertainty due to the tensions in the borders between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has asked the International Cricket Council to start working on an alternate plan as he wants the Tri-Series to go ahead," Naqvi wrote to ICC as stated by a source. Afghanistan might boycott the tri-series amidst the tensions in the border regions.

If Afghanistan pulls out of the series, the entire scenario would change. As per reports, Pakistan is in talks with the Sri Lankan board to have a bilateral series. It would mean Pakistan either playing with none of their major players or reconsidering NOCs given to their star players to play the BBL.

In the source, it was added that the selectors will pick such a squad avoiding those who were picked for the BBL. The source added that there could be a case for reconsideration of the total time given by PCB for its players to be a part of the league.

"Obviously if the series with Sri Lanka is finalised, then either the selectors play without these players or the duration of their NOCs will have to be reconsidered by the PCB, meaning a disagreement with Cricket Australia," the source added.
