Mohammed Shami gave his opinion on India's bowling in the Headingley Test against England and felt the pacers like Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Prasidh Krishna did not bowl well. The 34-year-old felt other Indian bowlers had to talk and learn from Bumrah about planning as per the surfaces and executing as per the need to support the star pacer.

Shami felt Shardul, Prasidh, and Siraj had to work on their bowling. He felt the pacers had to support Bumrah better, which could have helped India to win the match easily. Notably, Shami, who opened his YouTube channel recently, was not picked for the series.

"In bowling, other Indian bowlers should talk to Bumrah and learn from him. They should talk about planning with him and support him. If they support Bumrah, then we can easily win the match. If I talk about the first match, then I think we need to do a little work in the bowling," Shami said on his YouTube Channel.

"England won the first Test because we gave too many easy runs" - Mohammed Shami

The right-arm pacer felt the double strikes provided by Krishna and Thakur in the second innings came a bit too late when England had an upper hand in the match. Shami felt the need to pick wickets early with the new ball, and England won the match due to the indiscipline of the Indian bowlers.

"Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna picked up two wickets each in the 2nd innings, but by the time Shardul dismissed two England batters, the match was out of India’s reach. It is very important to take wickets with the new ball. They must support Bumrah. England won the first Test because we gave too many easy runs. We need to find out how to make our bowling side strong," Shami added.
